The good stuff. Saving it for a special occasion, or until some drunk person accidentally opens it.

The 2012 Caymus Special Selection made for long-term cellaring, this wine is pure hedonism. Concentrated, tooth-staining, utterly seductive layers of blackberry compote and plum, satiny crème de cassis, cedar and woodsmoke are woven together by fine, grippy tannins. There is a lot of power and finesse here, and it ends with a dusting of cocoa powder and the promise of many years to come.

Dark purplish red. Layered nose with tons of cinnamon, blackberries, creme de cassis, vanilla, and graphite. Super dark palate with heavy tannins (7/10) and full bodied. Big on the palate with tons of blackberries, sweet spices, pencil shavings and black currants. A little anise too. Long and lingering finish. Drink till 2035.

Dark purplish ruby red. Layered nose with tons of cinnamon, blackberries, creme de cassis, vanilla, and a bit of graphite. Super dark palate with heavy tannins (7/10) and full bodied. Voluptuous and silky on the palate with tons of blackberries, classis, sweet spices, spices, and black currants. Even a touch savory. Long and lingering finish. Drink till 2039.

Ripe, dark berries with vanilla on the nose. Blueberries and blackberries wrestle in a sea of thick love with a metallic sparkle on the finish.

This is the 2012 Caymus Special Select. Yummy. Beautiful purple color, full body clings to the glass when you swirl it and tastes great. Before 20 min decant it has a slight tannin taste in the tip of the tongue but after 30 min it's just as good as the 2010. Super nice. Bought 1/2 case
