Love this bold mixture of blackberry, cranberry & currants. It has a perfect amount of smokiness and a nice hint of cocoa. — 6 years ago
Bordeaux style, nicely done. — 6 years ago
This is not your Mothers Chardonnay!! The 2017 has light notes of peach and lemon which is so inviting that when you taste it is like dessert in a glass. Slight oak on the tongue with a full mouth feel that doesn’t overwhelm you. This will impress at any dinner party! — 7 years ago
Just getting started on this bottle. Garnacha that is fresh and crispy brings me to bliss. Spain should be a country we love more. Cycling, prosciutto, olives, wine, futbol, the Canary Islands, Paco de Lucia, Andrés Segovia, Charo, Seinfeld’s episode about the third tenor...”The Other Guy”. About to have some spicy bruschetta, then eat some pizza while listening to The New Gems. — 7 years ago
If this wine could sing it would fill the air with a brooding, heavy, bass-driven melody with a tenor backing that sneaks in and takes over to finish. Heavy at first, leathery and dark forest, it gradually opens into a more bright and fruit forward drink with red cherry and rich exotic spices. Much more poetic than this description. — 8 years ago
A very light red wine, with notes of cranberry and raspberry. Perfect for either thanksgiving dinner or a light salmon salad! — 4 years ago
Citrus minerals with some pear make it light & refreshing. — 5 years ago
From back label. Located on a high-elevation, steep glacial terrace in the Bendigo sub-region of Central Otago. This stunning site has clay and pedogenic lime soil, featuring schist and quartz.
A traditional aesthetic - respectful, patient, vineyard- focused- resonates in our approach, and frees the wine to express the unique tenor of our sites.
This wine was fermented using only indigenous ‘ wild’ yeast and matured for 17 months in French oak barrels. This wine was bottled unfiltered on 10th of November 2016. Careful cellaring will reward collectors over the next 10+ years. 1046 cases were made. — 6 years ago
If you want to knock your socks off, this is a sure bet. The full currant with raspberry flavors tickles your tongue. Then a swirl brings out a strong hint of earthy notes that are genuine. — 6 years ago
What a great Malbec! Beautiful deep fruit notes with a nice subtle pepper kick. Smooth tannins make this single varietal an amazing wine. — 7 years ago
Deliciously smooth and fruity. Bought as a present for my parents. Definitely buy again — 8 years ago
An aging project, this Michael Shaps led Cab Franc had a real since of place "taste". I think this was given a non-case Gold in VA. Really good structure - tannins and acid still carrying real strong energy! The success in this aging process: tempered junk! You know, the wild red fruit mixed with the herbal spice...it was mellowed into an elegant to Tenor. Loud yet articulate :) — 9 years ago
if you don’t think you like Merlot but wish you did, try the Tenor Merlot. The Merlot-ness is subtle and I think it’s quite a smooth, lighter-bodied Merlot. The tannins that come at the finish would do well to be balanced with some food but they are not so overpowering to prevent you from enjoying it by itself. — 5 years ago
2010. Vintage, 15.2% Alcohol. Very nice cab blend. #garagiste — 6 years ago
Blood-ruby, undiluted tenor from rim to rim. Blackberry-cran with a smoky coat, violets, raspberry reduction, wild nettle, suede, rose petal, dried cherry, applewood, and gingerly ginger, spare cedar, finest snuff, cherry pit and damp clove spiced nose. All with a slight memory of campfire. Black plum, cedar, violet, dried, sour cherry, dark leather, peppercorn, dried cranberry and red currant, cinnamon apple, fine, grippy tannins that integrate into the whole with a pleasing sense of herbs and bitters, sage and lavender. Did not expect this complexity from carignan, and floral notes that evoke like Nebbiolo. Class. .

Three days open. Bit off-dry, with sufficient acid. Honeysuckle and juicier stones. Easy, alto/tenor — 7 years ago
This fella is striking a nice balance between varietal correctness and terroir. Still young - I will try another bottle in 2-3 years. Black fruits and energetic tannins harmonize for a tenor-powered performance. Solid work in the cellar to make a clean and age worthy beauty. I am confident because this glass got better on days 2 & 3!! — 8 years ago
If this Cab was in a choir, it'd be a tenor. High notes through and through. Graphite minerality, pops of blackberries and cassis, and smoky cedar. It's nice it's just missing SOMETHING — 10 years ago

Lovely floral aromas arabesque, in roses and violets, heather, tulips, poppies, lavender and geraniums. Peppercorn clusters. Palate shows dusty grape that turns to dried blackberries, dried raspberry and marinate herbs, black currant and strangely: soap bubble. Meat and plum make an appearance, but the true key is the swings in tenor and complexity. Just exquisite.
