Really nice barbera - strong floral nose that outshined barbarescos I was tasting with. Down for more barbera superiores. — 6 years ago
Leathery goodness inspiring me to dig deeper into Dogliani — 7 years ago
Rougher riding on the first day, but mellowed our nicely after 24 hours. Dark fruit with nice texture. Liking these doglianis. — 7 years ago
Think Grignolino just isn’t my speed. Light, tart, with berry and little bit of apple. Fun to hear the wine-maker talk about her appreciation for this somewhat unpopular varietal. — 6 years ago
Great. Some body and hefty flavors of vanilla, melon and cream but doesn’t overwhelm the minerality. — 6 years ago
Really enjoyed this one. Dark flavors with earth. Drink within 48 hours. — 7 years ago
Up for more arneis like this one - lemon, grapefruit, melon, even a hint of peach. Goes down easy. — 6 years ago
Went to the Demarie winery, started in the 70s by a guy and carried on by two sons. One of them, Paolo, explained in our tasting that this bottle, more than any represented his family and legacy. Paolo was a super nice guy so it would’ve been hard not to like this wine even if it tasted like spoiled vinegar. But I left persuaded that Roero is a legit appellation, which, at its best, can hang with Nebbiolos grown and bottled across the Tanaro in Barbaresco, thanks to the nice aromas of red fruits and leathery tones. — 6 years ago

First time trying Gigondas - a delight. Allspice and Christmas vibes with a tiny bit of tannin and medium body. — 6 years ago
