Light canary gold color. Inspiring nose. Notes of citrus, white clay, cardamom, tan spice and some white flowers. Young and fat in the mouth at first, flabby. But with 7-8 hours of air, this explodes with acidity to match the voluptuous fruit. Long finish. Taken to the new Chez Noir in Carmel (really good food - they will eventually get a star!). Sadly my last bottle of this, which easily had 10+ more years to go. Outstanding juice. — 3 years ago
2019 | Chardonnay
Tan Fruit; Oak Grove Vineyard
Eola-Amity Hills; Willamette Valley, OR, USA
3H decant, then double-decant for service.
Salt dusted guava slice, cold wax; day old lemon zest, water with excessive lemon wedges, under-ripe pineapple. A nice effort, but how's this WA 98 points...? 🤷🏻♂️
Thanks @Delectable Wine for identifying this one, and Merry Christmas Eve to your lovely staff. ❤️ — 4 years ago
Taken to Hawksmoor in NYC for our uncle’s 75th. Decanted in hotel for 7 hrs before dinner. Light to medium gold color, heavy in the glass. At first the nose is muted with light citrus and white flower notes. Late in the evening after 10 hrs of air this finally blossomed into the Raveneau they is known and loved. Notes of citrus fruit, ocean breeze, kiwi, white stone, white clay and tan spice. Acidity finally came on too. Great wine but still too young. Needs 5-10 years of additional age to be in the ”go” zone. 94++ — 4 years ago
Medium gold color. Nose and color suggest this has a lot of age. Notes of apricot, gravel road, tan spice and lemon crème. Good weight and mouth feel. Nice structure. This is slightly advanced from where it should be at age 20 but drank nicely. Better than the other 02 Leflaive Pucelles I’ve had. — 4 years ago

Nice young yellow canary color. Heavy in the glass. Tropical nose with notes of sea breeze, lemon, kiwi, white stones and tan spice. Glycerol and rich in the mouth. California like, but with nice Chablis nuances. I wonder how this will evolve over next 10 years. Maybe like 92’s? — 3 years ago
Taken to Canoe House at the Mauna Lani on the Big Island. Awesome aged Raveneau nose. Rich and heavy in the mouth. Notes of citrus, apricot, sea shells, white clay and tan spice. In the zone. Shared a glass with our server/somm. When the bill came, “we have a strict corkage policy but it’s waived when it’s Raveneau “. Ha! — 4 years ago
Tasted blind. Red purple in the glass. Looks young. Killer nose. Everyone smiles. Notes of red cherries, tan spice, rhubarb, some rosemary and a little candied fruit. Very refined in the mouth. Masculine. Very balanced, with ample fruit and matching structure. Has the precision of a great Rousseau. As good as burgundy gets. Guessed 71 Rousseau Chambertin. This goes on the list of all time greats for me. Thanks Stan! — 4 years ago

2019 opened May 2025. Freshly tan leather on the nose. Black cherries on the front. Medium tannic structure. Nice mix of mineral high notes and dark chocolate low notes on the mid palate and the back palate. Short finish. Adequate, but this is probably the best you can get in the $50 price range in the US. — a year ago
Very fruity for a cab, for me. Rich deel@berry flavor, light tan in. Would reach for again — 3 years ago
Last bottle of the trip, taken to Napua at the Mauna Lani. Canary gold color, bright and cheery in the glass. Notes of citrus and kiwi, tropical fruit, wet stones, tan spice, vanilla and white acacia flowers. Rich and glycerol in the mouth, matched with serious acidity. Paired perfectly with a nice Onaga fresh catch, which turned out to be the best prepared fish dish of the trip. Young but drinking well. Aloha! — 3 years ago

Roussillon trip #5
Catalan wine, on the Spanish side, dominated by the Grenache. The dress is bright dark purple. The nose is fresh and juicy with fresh fruit (black and red) bursting, and candied at the same time, extending towards bright roasted notes on the side of licorice, and violet, all carried by greedy acidity. A refined thirsty wine with a medium body less.
— 4 years ago

The nose is definitely a 98, but it needs years to drink,
Parkers 98 point review as follows,
The aromas of the 2019 Chardonnay Dux Vineyard are alluring and savory, with ripe peach layers, beeswax, roasted almonds and pastry. The palate has a singular satiny texture and impressive concentration, enlivened by tangy acidity and streaks of graphite and finishing with tremendous length and energy. Wow!
Tan Fruit is a brand-new project from Jim Maresh, proprietor of his family winery, Arterberry Maresh, and the winemaker behind some of the most exciting Chardonnays in the Willamette Valley today. Much of the fruit for the Arterberry Maresh wines are sourced from older estate vines, and very few cases are made each year. In 2019, Maresh founded Tan Fruit, for which he will purchase fruit. "I hear about fruit for sale that I'd love to play with," he explains. "It doesn't work for Arterberry, but for Tan Fruit, there are no rules." He made six cuvées this initial vintage, and unsurprisingly, they are some of the best Chardonnays of 2019. The first set of Tan Fruit wines will be released sometime in 2022, and I hope to be first to sign up for this mailing list! — 4 years ago
