Domaine François Raveneau
Blanchot Chablis Grand Cru Chardonnay
Taken to Canoe House at the Mauna Lani on the Big Island. Awesome aged Raveneau nose. Rich and heavy in the mouth. Notes of citrus, apricot, sea shells, white clay and tan spice. In the zone. Shared a glass with our server/somm. When the bill came, “we have a strict corkage policy but it’s waived when it’s Raveneau “. Ha!

Dec 23rd, 2022Yellow gold, nice weight. Offers a nose that is textbook Raveneau Chablis. Sea shells, lemon, wet river stone, some honey and a little cardamom spice. Fruit forward. Fruit builds with air. Impactful finish. Lucious. More fruit than acidity. While great tonight this is still on the upslope.

Aug 5th, 2016The thing about Raveneau is at once it is both quintessential Chablis and an outlier, so consistently full, long, deep and full of dimension yet not shrill or overblown. It's in its own class. The sheer magnificence of this mature Blanchots, the aromatics, the intensity, the texture, the length is all quite perfectly aligned with the wonderful service and cuisine at Little Bird. Oily citrus, cereal dust, saline, ginger, lemongrass creme, subtle spice, this is what gratitude tastes like. Thank goodness for chicken fried trout and Raveneau.
