Too bad that more people have discovered the wines of Sylvain Pataille. Still well priced but more competitive to buy them. — 4 months ago
Vintage 2014 | so happy I could hold my fingers from this bottle. Now, at eleven years old it has developed a truly distinguished taste. A combination of brushwood and minerals. With in smell and taste pepperbell, clearly Cabernet Franc. Fantastic. Paired with a very simple Cantonese dish (vegetarian): Tofu stewed in oystersauce. — a month ago

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a couple of hours. The 2021 pours a deep purple color with an opaque core; medium+ viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe dark fruits: blackberries, dark cherry, plums, purple flowers, cocoa, organic earth and warm spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium. A crowd pleaser to drink now but with enough substance to enjoy through 2036. — 4 months ago

Vintage 2021 | blind tasted | next to 2021 cab franc to see young and old | this Saumur Champigny has a little stinky nose (positive), mushrooms and stable smell. Very round taste with hint of pepper bell, of course it is a point but still has potential to cellar longer. — 3 months ago
Unusual wine. Very balanced. Gentle fruit and seamless all through to the finish. — 4 months ago

2019 vintage. The durty/lean side of Côte-Rôtie. Medium-bodied. Less fruit, more earth/dust. Tasted it 5 hours later after just sticking the cork back in at 3:15pm. Overt tannins had slightly backed off but extra/evolved fruit components hadn't rushed in to fill in the vacuum. Definite food wine. 10.8.25. — 4 days ago
