Awesome nose. Black olive, blackberry, blue berrry, amazing clarity here, spice and such purity, superb granite expression. Floral. Just a wacko nose that is singing. Decadent fruit and a mid palate one can get lost in with such superb freshness and awesome granite finish. Superb concentration and structure. Elegant and yet so dense plus ethereal. Really captures what great Côte Rotie is about. Clean. Velvety and sweet tannins. Awesome. Really showing well today.

2017 vintage. A real sumptuous powerhouse. Brown sugar and fines herbes top of the nose. Tons of blackberry and blueberry with Valrhona chocolate, tobacco, celery salt and grilled NY strip smoke stirred into the flavor profile. Light medium body with big tannic framework. Initially a bit tart but that resolved itself within 20 mins of being opened. 14.5% ABV and an average vines age of 40 years between the 97% syrah and 3% viognier. This is dynamite but even a cursory decant will improve the experience. Last tasted March 2022 and it rated a 9.3. What a difference a year makes!
