Great QPR on this bottling @Somm David T gave me the 411 on these a few vintages back
Nose has ash covered blackcurrants, crushed black cherries, oak firewood stack, blackberry cordial and dried sage.
Palate has clay covered blackberry, dried black cherry, dried blackcurrants, anise, fine tannins with slight saline notes to the medium finish.
A very nice effort, double decanted then 24H rest, based on others notes this wine needed a wide berth and I'm very pleased with the outcome.

We love Aesthete, and we love this rosé, too. But at $40 per? — 6 years ago

We all gotta make choices 🤷🏼♂️Not bad. Didn’t stack up to the Pierre Morey Bourgogne — 7 years ago
2024 vintage. Lighter but with concentration for days. A different style with a suggestion of limoncello. Generally dislike Sauvie B but this came to play and was the standout of this year’s Bevan Cellars releases I tasted (3 whites/7 reds). 08.22.25 — 10 months ago
Charred oak barrel, cinnamon, spice and maple. — 3 years ago
Dark cherry and spice nose. More dark cherry on the palate with cola, plum, cooked strawberry, cinnamon, clove, oak, with a hint of cocoa. Medium plus alcohol, medium minus tannins, and high alcohol. — 4 years ago
A very tasty Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley. Showing black fruits with cedar, vanilla, leather, spices, earth, chocolates, tobacco and herbs.
Bone dry on the palate, and full bodied with medium acidity.
Needs time to open up properly.
Still young and needs a few years in the bottle to mature properly.
Wine Advocate 92 points.
Spicy and tangy finish with firm tannins.
14.2% alcohol by volume.
91 points.

Bought on @Bill Bender ‘s recommendation and he didn’t lead me astray. Huge nose of peach and apples with more of the same on the palate. This is a SB that smacks you across the face and draws out a long finish. Sad I’ve only got two more in the cellar, but no regrets on signing up for recurring shipments. Bests Bevan’s Dry Stack hands-down. — 7 years ago

Pineapple, beeswax, pear and wet stone. Rich full bodied Chenin with beautiful acidity. When it’s first opened it had a nice funk of mushroom / wet forest with a clean mineral undertone. Balanced. I want a case stack for the summer. — a year ago
This is fucking right now. Gorgeous, enough hedonistic quality but retains balance and complexity. Smoked BBQ ribs, roasted coffee, mesquite charcoal, bacon fat, talcum, leather, vanilla, mulberry compote with a hint of overripe blue fruit. It has sinew and grit, but there’s appropriate richness on the palate to balance its structure. Tannins are a touch drying, but I love the character that brings to it. Young but to good now, properly stored I could see this hitting 20 years no problem. Perfect with a bacon cheeseburger w/ grilled onion. Curious how ‘15 and ‘16 vintages will stack up. — 7 years ago
Probably opened this too soon, which is so unlike me😬
Curious how this will stack up against the Carter Hossfeld which is almost the same blend of Merlot & Cabernet.
Find out in a couple weeks when Carter ships
Same price & almost exactly same ratings from WA,
95 for this & 94+ for Hossfeld — 8 years ago

At $23 per, there is no better domestic or international SB on the market…
On the bubble and could be 94. — 6 months ago
