Impeccable presentation which is holding it own. Nose displays honey, key lines and guava. Palate is soft and round. You can’t taste the oak, but you can detect impression of the oak on the components. Very complicated expression of SB, with moderate acid in the background. In the $65 price range, I considered this to be one of the best in the US. In my mind, SB’s show best in their youth. Drink these now.

Not as approachable upon release as the 2016. That extra six months in the cellar has made a world of difference. Exceptional stuff! They seem to just get it. Balance between more old world “17”& new world. Highly recommend.

To me, New world sauv blanc is fine, nice on a hot day, but generally unremarkable. Aesthete is the exception to the rule. Excellent grass, melon, pineapple, citrus balance.

Age is shifting this from plush, pure tropical and stone fruit, towards creme brûlée and citrus.
