Spring Valley Vineyard

Smith Madrone

Estate Bottled Spring Mountain District Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

This wine is really nice and represents more of an "old school" style of CS. Dark berry fruit is present but not the star! Earth and minerals mingle nicely...pencil lead..eucalyptus..leather..
Cola..Bakers chocolate..oak.& cherry compote!
90 min decant.

Cain Five Spring Mountain District Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2010

Drinks like a ripe Bordeaux - cedar, dark fruits, some Napa dust, graphite, cocoa, and a slight hint of tobacco. Fine tannins, good structure and a long finish. — 7 days ago

Perry's Blend Spring Mountain District Red Blend

1st of the New Year/New Decade diet cheat night with the wifey. Trying something new...on recommendation from the waiter. Smooth, slightly jammy with a small bite. Defiantly a wine to have again. — 13 days ago

At peak! Last time I had this wine was 4-5 years ago. It was great then, outstanding now. — 7 days ago

Grand Napa Wine

Heir Apparent Spring Mountain District Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

Such a shame only 240 cases produced. Raspberry, black currant, cherry, mocha and dusty tannins jump from the glass. Spring Mountain does it again. — 7 days ago

Elivette Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2012

A few fun 4th Friday wines from tonight.

I’ll be honest...this was very similar to the ‘09 Gruaud Larosse it shared the table with. Nice compliment. These Elivette’s have so much structure and can age for a good while, and while I’m sure this vintage is no different, it seemed much more approachable at a young age than previous vintages. Aromatically it shows potpourri, brambly fruits, some fig, and only a hint of leather. Dark core that is fairly soft, with blue and black fruits, pencil shavings, baked plum, dark chocolate and a very lengthy finish. Lots to like here.

Pride winery recommended Keenan to us! Thank you. This Cab Franc is wonderful. Will be saving the rest and ordering more. Just as good as it was at the very nice tasting. — 20 days ago

Labor of Love Cabernet Franc Blend 2013

Raspberry and red currant flavors mesh nicely with angular tannins...a little reticent to start but opened up beautifully...a super Pritchard Hill wine — 13 days ago

Philip Togni Vineyard

Ca' Togni Black Muscat 2007

This is a very nice sweet wine from Napa Valley.

Showing black fruits with wood, cooked cherries, dried fruits, coffee, light citrus (on the nose), eucalyptus, light alcohol, dark coffee and spices.

Full bodied sweet and bold with medium plus acidity.

Has enough acidity to balance the sugars.

This 13 year old Will continue to age nicely in the next 5 to 10 years.

14.1% alcohol by volume.

93 points.
