Robert Sinskey Vineyards

Los Carneros Pinot Noir 2017

Small production. RSV has under 200 acres of vineyards in 5 Carneros locations & a winery in the Stags Leap District. The wines are 100% organic. Ruby with berry, cherry & spice aromas. On the palate flavors of wild strawberry & cherry with complex spice, citrus, oak and balanced acidity. Fine soft tannins, good balance, long finish with an earthy characteristic ending with notes of vanilla spice. Nice! — 14 days ago

Martinborough Pinot Noir 2017

Terrific NZ Pinot, nice clean lines of fruit and acidity and has silky smooth tannins.
This has matured nicely since my last bottle three years ago.
Have another one which I’ll try at 10 years.

Suisun Valley Grand Durif 2016

Deep purple in color with a short purple rim.

Sweet and very fruity on the nose.

Full-bodied and bold with medium minus acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate and very fruity, with nice complexity.

Showing blackberries, cooked prunes, cedar, vanilla, licorice, spices, dried figs, raisins, chocolates, light earth, bitter herbs and light barnyard.

Sweet finish with fine grained tannins.

This 9 year old Petite Sirah from California is enjoyable by itself or with food. Elegant and smooth. Fruit forward and robust.

Very much in your face kind of wine, although, I expected it to calm down by now. Feels more like a California Syrah at this point.

14.6% alcohol by volume.

91 points.

$60.

This was so well behaved. Subtle nose of pineapple and roasted nuts. Mid palate presents honeysuckle, honeydew melon and moderate acidity. Finishes soft and round. Unsure that this will further improve with cellaring. — 2 months ago

What a Pinot should be. Light, flowery, with light red fruit, with a hint of blueberry up front. Very nice wine. — 3 months ago
