Pierre Péters

Cuvée de Réserve Brut Blanc de Blancs Chardonnay

We had a taste test among 4 Champagnes, this Pierre Peters Cuvee de Reserve, Blanc de Blancs, Dampierre Cuvée des Ambassadeures Premier Cru, and Pehu Simone Face Nord Extra Brut Grand Cru. This one is the weakest in taste, quite band. The Dampierre was the best, bold and tasty finish, while the Pehu Simonet was very drinkable, nice taste but weaker finish. — 3 months ago

Awesome bottle, I let this one play out over 8 days. There is a rating for this with Vinous under the name "Palette Grand Cru de Provence Rosé Grenache Blend". Funny how there are many different classifications on the bottle in this app, hard to find consistent notes...

@Severn Goodwin I’m impressed by your restraint, I barely was able to make my bottle last two days! And yes, it’s strange the app has several versions of the same wine...

@Brendan Baker It was for science! And the fact I hid our bottles away to off-site storage, and I truly don't want to touch them for at least 6+ years, so I needed good notes for future comparison.

Palette Red Rhone Blend 2012

Cherry liquer. Red and purple fruit, some barnyard, mulberry and garrigue on the finish. Ripe fruit but lithe with fresh acid, not at all overextracted; prominent tannins (but not too aggressive). Almost reminds me of a ripe, herbaceous alto piedmont Nebbiolo. Fairly one note on the nose for now, just needs more time. — 4 months ago
