My 2nd favorite Chianti Classico of all time! Like others have said, very rich or velvety with those wonderful Sangiovese grapes. I just LOVE the Sangiovese region! — 2 days ago
You’ll hear wine geeks throw around the word “nervosity” from time to time, and this is a perfect example of a wine that displays that thrumming electrical current of acidity and sappy piney lemony zip that earns the adjective. Gorgeous wet pavement welded to neon lemon pith and pink grapefruit all dusted with fleur de sel. Utterly mouthwatering and delicious. This is the remains of a sample bottle that I’ve been nursing for a few days since tasting it and it continues to be fantastically fresh and demonstrative of a long life ahead of it - provided you have the willpower to wait that long. — 10 days ago
2013 Herman Story Syrah White Hawk
Dark purple in color. Medium + bodied.
What a nose -comes off prosciutto, lavender, spice black jam.
Screaming blackberries, ground pepper, gaminess. Silky tannins, light acidity & a great finish. What’s not to love.
Very close to a PNP...let it open up in your glass for a short bit of time.
Wouldn’t wait more than a few years to drink these up. IMHO — 2 hours ago
pale garnet, tawny rim; black cherry, plum, leather, tea, composting leaves; tart cherry and pomegranate; medium body, light tannins, medium+ acidity, 14.2% ABV; despite Santa Barbara County appellation fruit is all from Santa Rita Hills vineyards including 44% Ranco La Viña, 30% Rio Vista, 13% Zotovich, 7% Radian, and 6% Buona Terra, aged 10 months in 30% new French oak; very nice entry level California Pinot at $35 from the OG of Central Coast Pinot — 15 days ago
Outrageous Barbera. Violets and intense minerality. Black plum. Raspberry. So so floral. Wow minerals. Exuberant. So elegant and juicy. Concentrated but never heavy. Weight of a feather and so juicy with intense mineral backbone. Really has a wonderful structure and depth and bathes the palate with minerals. Complex. Give this 3-4 years. — 9 days ago
The best sextant vintage of Pinot yet! Vibrant bright cherry, lively wine that evolves in the glass. Perfect thanksgiving wine, which is why I paired it with the delicate pork tenderloin tonight. Has enough racy acid to challenge the vinaigrette accompanying the couscous salad. Lovely! ‘Tis the season! — 16 days ago
