Jaffurs Wine Cellars

Stolpman Vineyard Roussanne 2016

JWC founded by Craig Jaffurs, known for his Rhone blends, & released his first commercial wine in 1994. Craig turned the business over to Dan & Janelle Green in 2016. This is made with 100% Roussanne, which is a bit unusual as there is usually a blend. 100% of the Roussanne is aged on French oak (12% new), reflecting aromas of tropical fruit, floral and notes of honey. On the palate pineapple and apricot with bright acidity and a touch of citrus spice. Medium finish, elegant, ending with a gentle sweetness. Very nice! Tasting Sample!

Day two: really impressed with the balance of pepper, mineral, black fruits, acidity, and tannins. Knockout stuff. — 3 days ago

Boen Wines

Santa Barbara, Monterey, Sonoma County Pinot Noir 2016

A tri-appellation Pinot, Böen is a reflection of Owner and Winemaker Joe Wagner’s agricultural roots as a lifelong grapegrower and winemaker. Ruby with blackberry fruit aromas and sweet spice notes. On the palate cherry & blackberry flavors with herb and vanilla oak notes, well balanced. Soft sweet tannins, lingering ending with fruit and spice notes. Very nice. Tasting Sample. Met Joe Wagner at a tasting in CT. — 11 days ago

This is great wine. And, yes Martin, I agree. I got this as a gift from a house guest and when I first looked I assuming it was The Pundit! Wasn't until a a few weeks later when I went to open it I realized it wasnt.

@Martin Sher @Ted Corvey Interestingly, The Pundit is also a pretty good Syrah!

Antle Vineyard Mourvedre 2016

Really nice wine! Just now starting to open up after 40 min decant. Showing more on the palate than the nose...tastes of red berries...leather...bacon fat...wet gravel..nice balance overall! I opened this early..but not disappointed! — 12 days ago

Tensley Vineyard Syrah 2016

Light oak, cherry, leather and tannins on the nose, black cherry predominant on the palate, slightly astringent aftertaste that makes the mouth water- 2016 — 2 days ago
