Lou Taissou Saint Joseph Syrah 2018

From granitic soils, minimal sulfur. 60% whole cluster then Spanish amphora for 15 months. Closed at first then the fruit emerges with a long berry finish. — 3 days ago

Nuits-Saint-Georges Pinot Noir 2015

Old world charm, it would be an everyday occasion in a different life. I’ll settle for Vintage Saturdays at lunch with the crew. — 25 days ago

Les Murgers des Dents de Chien Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Chardonnay 2018

Pop and pour, notes from 2 hrs open. On the nose: soft honey, lemon oil, dark earth and slate. tangy notes, fantastic intensity. On the palate: excellent acidity, wet stone, lemon oil, soft vanilla custard. Good density, but I feel like the 17 was better on that count. Very good, but perhaps a stride behind the '17. — 18 days ago

Offerus Saint-Joseph Syrah 2016

2021/3. Red and blue fruit, but also powdery and compacted - even a relatively “straightforward” St. Joseph like this probably needs more time to come together — 4 days ago

Domaine Blain-Gagnard

Clos Saint-Jean Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Chardonnay 2017

Caramel and green apple bounce back and forth in a surprising dance. Unable to judge if this bottle is advanced or needs time to fully knit together. Either way, lots of pleasure and hopefully even more in the future. — 11 days ago
