Dark cherries, cassis, smooth tannic tongue weight, leather like I’m being bound, pepper, apricot, delicious! — 5 months ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of two days. Gorgeous on both days. The 2019 Grumello “Rocco de Piro”pours a brilliant, ruby color with a transparent core and a slightly watery rim; medium viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with gorgeous notes of cool, fresh raspberries, roses with babies breath, Alpine herbs, cedar chest, and rocky earth. On the palate the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+ and the texture is silky. Such a beautiful and elegant expression of Chiavennasca. Drink now through 2034. Thanks for the assist @Lyle Fass — 6 months ago

This is really tasty. Primarily cherry, autumn spice, and orange zest, with hints of balsamic, mint, dried fruits coming through. Unfortunately the finish was a bit hot and very tangy. I enjoyed it overall though. This is the 2018 vintage. — 2 days ago

Enjoyed at Savini Ristorante in Milan, Italy, with Veal Cheek and truffles to start and Osso Buco as my main. Buon appetito! — 6 months ago
Delicious Chocolate over dried fruit notes with nice dry floral notes. A very nice nebbiolo without face ripping tannins- a good sipper but also would pair well with the lighter side of Italian foods. — 6 months ago
20 years old, and still wonderful. A very well-made wine. — 5 years ago
Médium lemon yellow . On the nose this is quite ripe and slightly tropical with pineapple , peach , ripe citrus , touches of creamy oak and blanched almonds . On the palate this is very well balanced with that a creaminess with good extract and fresh acidity , yellow fruits , lemon , peach , apricot, some herbal , floral hints too . Balanced alcohol and a lightly toasty finish , with good textured length. This is really quite young and will repay moderate ageing , better in 3-4 years and will last well a further 5-10 . — 7 hours ago

I don't spend a lot on Chianti. In the $20 range there are plenty of winners and losers. This is pretty good. Juicy cherries, chewy tannins, vibrant acidity. Better than the average 8.7 score it's received.
