Deep, rich flavors. 2025 Christmas with the Borens. — 4 days ago
Popped and poured for Thanksgiving dinner. No V.A detected on nose or palette. Had with non-traditional Thanksgiving dinner of duck cassoulet, and it was a wonderful pairing. Lovely initial cherry notes on the palette followed with anise, woodsy herbs, and hints of leather with nice and smooth mouth feel. Tannins are well-integrated. Finish was long and beautiful. — a month ago

Double decant for sediment and pour. A remarkable still dark purplish garnet with bricking. On the nose: still captivating areomatics of stewed red fruit, worn leather, herbaceous, pencil shavings, eucalyptus, cigar wrapper, funky earth. Taste: silky, soft, savory, mature wine with just a hint of blackberry, currants, earth, dried herbs, mocha, and a smokey pepper/tobacco medium finish. Sure, on the downside, but if you like savory aged Napa cab this still works tonight. — 2 days ago

This CdP seems a bit more angry and wild from being opened, a touch more structure than the softer 2000 Bosquet des Papes (2001 was a more tannic vintage), solid balance, also mature, 13.5% ABV, longish finish. — 23 days ago
