When you pour it the colour is bright, luminous
I reckon nebbiolo has the most sensual appearance ever..you can tell i am getting excited
Fruit here is sourced from Roero so the expression is slightly darker on the nose.
Tannin is smooth
Excellent stuff, truly elegant — 6 months ago
Unreal nose. The chestnut barrels really doing their thing here. This also just reeks of terroir. Reeks. Unreal wet earth, mushrooms, marsh, spices galore and damson roses. Unreal cherry clarity. Just stunning out of the gates. Palate is ultra juicy and clean, silky and smooth right out of the gates which is highly unusual for this Cru as it needs hours, often days of air. A wine that tastes and smells like Autumn. So fresh, energetic but also has the plumpness of 18. Can’t wait to see where this goes. — a month ago

Needs an hour decant. Prior to that discombobulated.
Immensely age worthy.
Nose: exquisite. Virgin pink roses. White flowers. The musk of beauty. So precise.
Hint of orange peel as it opens.
Palate: this ephemeral embryo of a cherry. Hint of cocoa. Silky. Just perfect.

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of two days. Consistent both days but this needed at least 3 to 4 hours to really start to strut. Day 2 this kept pulling like a freight train with no stop in sight. The 2019 Classico pours a garnet color with a slightly orange tinge and a transparent core; medium+ viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with powerful notes of ripe Morello cherry, roses, tar, new leather, dried sage, old wood and dry gravelly earth. On the palate, the wine is bone dry with high tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. I will say again, this really benefits from serious patience and air, but this is a beautiful Classico that has a very long life ahead. Drink now through 2059+. — a month ago
Enjoyed in Maui. Herbal and oaky nose. Low tannins. High acidity. Smooth but short finish. — 4 months ago

The wine opened very hot on the nose & palate but with plenty of underlying fruit. 20 minutes decanted it evolved to cherry and tobacco on the nose and lively fruit on the palate. This is a rich complex wine with layers of fruit & some spice early … and then beautifully balanced tannins/ fruit in the long finish. It is mature but can evolve well for another couple of years. Drink now or in 4 years.
