More like a fine Napa cab. Plum, blackberry, licorice, fresh herbs, light pepper spices, cigar box, and vanilla. On the palate it’s warm, gentle, and full of layered flavors, strung together by round but streaking acidity. Fine grained tannins.
Quite elegant, a word I don’t usually associate with Zin. Should continue to evolve over the next 5 years or so. — 5 days ago
Found another straggler and it was delicious...vivid, dark black cherry color.. smoke, goose fat, rich forest floor mushrooms. The 14.99 ABV largely resolved with little heat left. Every time I’m tempted to cut back I open one at 10-12 years... not gonna do it. Glorious new world Syrah! — 18 days ago
Interested to try this and like all of their reserve wines, drinks well and balanced. Heavier than their cabs or blends but still good aerated and would age nicely. — 5 days ago
Yakima Valley, 50/50 Grenache Mourvèdre. 240 cases made by small urban winery in Seattle. Light salmon pink with golden tinge, rather pretty. Excellent clarity. Slight sulfite, floral notes in nose, maybe citrus peel and cherry. Cherry and stone fruit (peach-nectarine) flavors, slight white pepper on finish. Dry, good acid as well as length of fruit flavors. Well made, minimal tannins here, at least on initial pour. A winner — 16 days ago
