Chavignol Sancerre Pinot Noir Rosé 2023

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a few hours. The 2023 Chavignol Rosé pours a nearly Nantucket red with a transparent core; medium viscosity with no staining of he tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of strawberry, watermelon Jolly Rancher, Kaffir lime, and limestone minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+ with a chalky texture. One of the great Rosés of the world that nobody ever talks about. Drink now through 2033. — 5 months ago

Just OK on day one. After 2 days on my Argon line. Cardamom, Allspice, forest notes, tannins integrated, black tea, orange rind and dark cherries. I prefer the Suchots from the same vintage. Over all i don’t think that Pascal Marchand did a good job in 2010. I am surprised that he did not better with Grand Cru fruit in a good vintage. May be picked too early? 13% . — 3 years ago
