From Magnum. NV. Really nice. This went fast! — 4 months ago
June 2024 disgorgement; would’ve preferred to pop this +12 months (vs. 6), as it would certainly benefit from some time. A grower BdB favorite; of course made from 100% Chardonnay, coming from several Grand Cru villages in the Côte des Blancs. The Cuvée de Réserve is a blend of more than twenty vintages, dating back to 1988 (via the solera method)! Peters considers this their “flagship” champ, even at the NV price point.
Firm upfront with a rather long finish. Sharp acidity; strong lemon, pale stone fruit, orange zest, and young tangerine notes. Medium body with pillows to carry you through. Steel vs. wood. 12% ABV. Simply delicious. — 17 hours ago
Another beautiful champagne from the Launois family. A pale old gold color with nice perlage and intensity. Freshly baked bread and green apple aromas for days. Melons and white peaches with herbs for good measure. There’s an innate sense of lemon zest in the air that’s just magnificent.
Pure Grand Cru Chardonnay from Mesnil-sur-Oger. Four years of aging on lees gives this a resplendent and stately nature. Nice acidity and a superb mouthfeel, especially on the second day. Apples and chalk on the palate alongside vibrant citrus fruits. I struggle to think of a better value in Champagne than this. Stock up. — 3 months ago
THAT COLOR!!! 👀
Here is the Larmandier-Bernier Rosé de Saignée made from a blend of old vine Pinot Noir (90%) and Pinot Gris (10%) sharing a vineyard parcel in the Premier Cru Village of Vertus, in the Côte des Blancs region of Champagne. 🍾🥂
That deep pink color is a hallmark of the saignée / maceration method used to make rosé wine, where the crushed grape juice stays in contact with dark colored grape skins for an extended period of time, extracting those color compounds into the juice.
The longer the period of maceration, the deeper the hue. Here the juice macerated on the skins for 2-3 days! No wonder it’s such a vibrant hue!! 😍
These bubbles are extra brut with only 2 g/l in dosage, so very dry and crisp on the palate …. But the juicy red fruit character fills your mouth and lends a generous profile with robust notes of dark cherry clafoutis, stewed strawberry, raspberry, lemon, white peach, white tea, biscuit, and white blossom. The mousse is creamy and persistent.
This is a delicious wine from an amazing grower-producer (RM) we were fortunate to visit in 2021, where we learned a lot about their biodynamic, and meticulous, practices starting in the vineyard to the cellar to the bottle.
Cheers to wine moments that leave a last a lasting impression on the palate! Santé 🥂 — 11 days ago

Sharp and citrusy. I loved the mineral chalky texture and the lightness of the wine. Great length Fruit is plentiful but relaxed (in a good way). Perfect for a snowy indoor holiday evening. Cheers! — 9 days ago
