This is the 2019 Hunting Hill, same vintage as the recently tasted Kumeu River Coddington. The Coddington remains the more opulent of the Kumeu cuvées. A mouth watering salinity. In this one. As Bob Campbell MW said, this is a Burgundian style (lacking the stone fruit of the Coddington). Although several previous vintages of Mates Vineyard have proved, at least to my palate, that it is the premium Cuvée. — 2 months ago

Loved it! Green apple, pear, some leather, well balanced, clean finish. NZ did it again. Definitely would buy again — 17 days ago
Aged beautifully. No hard edges at all, tannins are velvet. Eucalyptus, dry pine, cassis, super rich nose. Bright summer fruits, blackcurrant, fig and cedar. A delight. — 2 months ago
I liked this more than I can remember liking a syrah. Restrained, well balanced, delicious. — 4 months ago

The pale lemon colour belies the luscious, opulent stone fruit nature on the medium to full bodied palate. Of all of the Kumeu River Cuvées, Coddington is regarded as the most opulent I believe. This is a real crowd pleaser - so easy to like. — 7 hours ago
