Lovely, smoky, mushroom-funk with ethereal violet perfume emanating from lemon madeleines. Perfect expression of cassis and blackberries and black cherry, touches of sweet tobacco reveal a jungle of verdant herbs. Amazing cab franc with the full spectrum of textures.

This is only my second bottle of Tannat ever. Hated the first. It was ugly and funky in the wrong way. This is, however, ugly and funky in the right way. If the light hits it right, it’s almost a neon purple. The kind of neon you would find in the sign of your favorite dive bar. That favorite dive bar is pungent and almost offensive on the inside, but you keep going back. Where else are you going to go? I am a convert. — 6 years ago
Pinot noir / chardonnay co-ferment, super light and juicy with a touch of effervescence, cherry haribo 🎉 — at Livia Bakery — 6 years ago
Quite a treat sipping on something w/bottle age: bright neon golden colors, some peach & tangerine, fragrant beautiful with zesty acidity juxtaposed w/some fatness coming from age. Hint of RS on finish not quite as precise (balance) as German Riesling, but flat out Awesome nevertheless — 7 years ago
I know now this needs more time to integrate, but it’s down-soft in the background, so difficult to see a balanced future. Warm plum and black berry-currant, cranberry stuffing, rich chocolate, sherry trifle, all loosely sprinkled with fine graphite. Steamy jungle flora notes merge with hemp stem and black cherry skins. Hard chocolate entry bringing dried blackberry and even drier black cherry stripped naked in a sauna of chamomile and phantom eucalyptus outlines describing a swarthy shadow through steam. A recent denizen of the cedar benches, puffing sweet tobaccos? There is subtle power at play despite the fruit-forward leanings. I was initially on the fence with this. This one is enigmatic with a nod to Napa in the 1970s. #Napa #Walton #cab #cabernet #cabsauv4life #cabsav #california #egelhoff #EgelhoffWalton #Bobegelhoff #egelhoffwines #StHelena #sthelenacab — 8 years ago

There is really only one grape variety that I know of in the world that deserves to always have an exclamation mark: Juhfark! Or as I like to shout, Juhfaaaaaaaark! (pronounced you-fark). Grown only on the tiny little hill of Somló, an ancient underwater volcano, in Southwestern Hungary, it is among my favorite grape varieties and simply one of the world’s coolest wines. @sap_somlo is one of the best producers of it, coaxing out its bee pollen and chamomile scents and electric neon lemon, citrus peel, and yellow herb flavors, all layered on top of the deep volcanic minerality. The longer you let these wines age, the more they taste like rocks. Tired of the same old flavors in your white wines? Get thee some Juhfark! — 5 years ago

“Four” is a single-vintage blend of the most exciting barrels of Chardonnay from Liquid Farm’s vineyards. Popped and poured; enjoyed with friends over the course of an hour or so. The 2017 pours a striking, intensely bright golden color. I’m not sure I have seen anything quite like it before. It’s nearly neon. On the nose, the wine is redolent ripe and tart tropical fruits: starfruit and pineapple along with lemons, green apple, butter, gentle baking spices (this does see extended time in a small percentage of new oak). On the palate, the wine is dry with what I perceive to be high acid. It’s awesome. Confirming the notes form the nose, the finish is long with good minerality. This is titillating wine that hooks you from sight to nose to palate and it’s the latter that drives it home with the remarkable acid to match the fruit. About as good as any New World Chardonnay I’ve ever had. Drink now through 2039. — 2 years ago

BC wine at its best. Go drink this. — 7 years ago
Tannin has grip to it. A mouthful takes me into a cloud forest, a knot of jungle and brush. Intricate and sinewy, like the musculature of a dancer. — 8 years ago
Bright, almost neon color is striking. Scent is all pleasantly earthy and meaty. Taste is more meat and leather nicely rounded with red fruit and a slight savory brine. Has low to end acidity with a soft tannic pull. Delicious. Reminds of a Corsican wine I had recently. Will buy again, no question. — 8 years ago

Pretty salmon in color, with a peach/ neon hue.
Fruity nose of currants, strawberries, apples, light herbs, limes and spices.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate with raspberries, cherries, red currants, peaches, apples, citrus, spices and herbs.
Long finish with limes.
This is a delicious Cabernet Sauvignon Rosé from Oak Knoll District in Napa Valley. Rich and elegant, fruity and nicely balanced. Complex and interesting.
Feels like a light red wine, so interesting and yummy.
I've had a few vintages of this wine and it is very consistent.
A great sipping wine that will pair nicely with food too.
100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes were aged in stainless steel vats for 6 months. A tiny production of less than 1,000 bottles.
14.2% alcohol by volume.
92 points.
