Cherry. Earthy. Touch smokey. Touch bitter. Spice. Good but not a burgh like wine despite the low%. but a good effort. A little rough around the edges. — 6 months ago
Querciabella, in Italian, means “beautiful oak” and surrounds their vineyards. Founded in 1974 by Giuseppe Castiglioni, now managed and owned by Sebastiano Cossia Castiglionii. Sangiovese from biodynamically grown grapes, Ruby, lovely nose of fruit, floral and spice. On the palate cherry and blackberry flavors with earthy herb notes and spicy cacao. Fine tannins, good balance, medium+ finish ending with earthy character. Nice value, consistent. — 5 years ago
v14. Very enjoyable. Opaque color. Smokey, meaty nose. Juicy black cherry fruit. Earthy, black pepper, cola, chocolate finish. Nicely balanced. Note: awesome Smokey nose upon opening. — 5 years ago
Light gold in color with a green hue.
Pronounced nose of citrus, lemons, oak, vanilla, spices, grapefruits, pears and red apples.
Full bodied, buttery and smooth, with medium acidity and nice legs.
Dry and fruity on the palate with red apples, citrus, lemons, grapefruits, sea salt, white pepper, oak, vanilla and spices.
Medium plus on the finish with limes and almonds.
This is a very enjoyable California Chardonnay. Shows a very typical taste profile, with an above average quality and flavor.
Good by itself as a sipping wine, as it is not bitter. Nice length on the finish, which I liked.
This is a nice surprise. Enjoyable and gracious mouthfeel with nice complexity.
Better when not very cold to show the complexity.
I paired it with cheeses and nuts.
13.9% alcohol by volume.
89 points.

2023 vintage. Pretty sure this vineyard was dealing with a replanting. Dunno where this offering falls on either side of that. Medium body. Bright cherry and cola right off the bat. Some earthy, durty tones hanging out underneath the bleachers. Some oak influence. Full disclosure: fan of this producer and particular vineyard but not of singled-out Grenache. Likely better in a year or two. 3.16.25. — 3 months ago

Not sure about it. Mouth feel is good earthy sanguine flavors that I am still processing. — 5 years ago
A magnificent Pinot from the Santa Rita Hills. Matthias casts his magic and the results are phenomenal. I would swear this was a Syrah, but not a drop. A perfect melody of bright berry notes together with deep, dark fruit that’s almost savory. A bargain at any price. @Delectable Wine this is the Backseat Freestyle. — 6 years ago
Big wine well done just not my style. — 3 months ago
Heady spice & amazing fruit. — 5 years ago
Smoked meats, cherry and sugarplum in the nose. Said same follows through with a hint of cinnamon. Decently lengthy finish. Light-medium body. Best thing about this wine is that it walks the nearly impossibly thin tightrope between pinot noir (stylistically and body-wise) and syrah (while still having some back end chutzpah). Could match this up with nearly any meat or fish if you’re stupid enuff to spoil it with food. I think I paid $27 for it. May hafta go back for a case. — 6 years ago
