Chianti Classico Tasting @ Ai Fiori 4/27/26 — 25 days ago
Clear, medium ruby in color; on the nose, it's clean with pronounced intensity primary and secondary aromas of black cherries, roasted tomatoes, and tabacco; on the palate, it's dry with medium acidity, medium tannins, medium alcohol, medium body, and pronounced primary and secondary flavors of red currants, clay pots, graphite, and eucalyptus with a long finish. This wine is balanced and intense. Overall, I rate this wine as very good. — 3 months ago

Strawberries, cherries, leather on the nose. After about 2 hours it opened up beautifully. The palate brought plenty of acid, structured tannins, and some great dark and red fruits. Medium plus body.

Dark ruby/ purple in color with a reddish rim.
Fruity nose of black fruits with cedar, chocolates, spices, herbs and light earth.
Full-bodied with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate and very fruity with blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, cedar, toast, light vanilla, dark chocolates, tobacco, herbs, spices, light earth, black tea and peppercorn.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.
This is a delicious 8 year old Cabernet based blend from Napa Valley. Fruit forward with nice complexity. Showing a soft mouthfeel, elegant and rich.
Good right out of the bottle, and better with some air time.
Drinking at its peak now, and will continue to drink nicely in the next 5 years.
Good by itself as a sipping wine, or with food.
A blend of 73% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot and 12% Sangiovese. Aged in (90% new) French Oak barrels for 20 months.
14.9% alcohol by volume.
92 points.

Juicy Tuscan red blend with medium tannin and acidity enjoyed with steak salad at Willow and Ivy, Lennox Hotel, Boston — 3 months ago
Very nice super Tuscan, Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon blend. Easy to drink and pares well with pasta, red and white meat and a variety of dishes. Ruby color with pleasant nose and taste of dark cherry. Drank in April 2026. Smooth. — 3 months ago
Lovely wine made with minimal processing. 👌🏻 — 6 months ago
2021 vintage.
Sangiovese 60 % and Cabernet Sauvignon 40 % from Pitigliano estate in Maremma, Tuscany with a southwest exposure.
Owned by Tommasi family since 1997.
Rompicolla is ‘breakneck’ but means tremendously steep and slippery slope…a risky adventure.
Soils are deep in volcanic tuff.
Stainless steel ferment and matured 1 year in 65 HL Slavonian oak casks.
Red cherries, raspberries, savoury spice, and floral.
Medium bodied but fresh and clean on the finish.
This wine loves food ….and I appreciate that. — 7 months ago

Old standby. I guess i haven't written about the 2022. This wine is softer than previous bottlings. Typical Sangiovese flavors, though the tiny bit of Cabernet Franc is apparent. Cherry, sweet tobacco, a bit heavy on florals, lower tannins but a lingering finish.
