2012 vintage. Mount Eden Vineyards wine dinner @Mister A’s Restaurant-San Diego. Decanted and tasted after opening and 4hrs later. Dark and dense nose and flavors at the onset. Medium body but very very close to light-medium. Tasting 4 hrs later, wine had gained a little weight with a grippy consistency and plenty of dark fruit/espresso love. Wine has dropped all the baby fat and entered “the zone.” Just below cresting the top of the bell curve and set up for a decade+ of top-notch pleasure. 4.20.23. — a year ago
Bright green strawberries. Chalky. Good finish. — 3 years ago
Great barrel aged sour beer! I really dig the way oak aging softens the usually hard bite of a sour brew. — 5 years ago
2022 vintage. @ Mister A’s Restaurant, San Diego-Les Caves de St. Charles CDP dinner. 100% Roussanne-driven. Initial mineral indication of interest, broad mid-palate transition, yang-styled, white grape “fat” on the judiciously-honeyed finish. Wowzers. Grab you some if you can find it. 95 cases produced. Good luck with that. 11.16.23. — 6 months ago
A wonderful wine to celebrate seeing our daughter whose been studying abroad. I think @Mike R would be proud of this selection. — 2 years ago
Very interesting, kind of a peanut M&M’s taste, in a good way, definitely singular. A great melted real juice popsicle taste and feel — 5 years ago
This is a delicious Syrah from San Diego County.
Ruby and color with medium intensity and a wide reddish rim. Really pretty color.
Medium-bodied with medium acidity, and dry on the palate.
Showing blueberries, sweet cherries, light oak, licorice, prunes, earth, chocolates, tobacco leaf, cardamom, cinnamon, light soy sauce, coffee, herbs, Indian spices and black pepper.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.
This 7 year old is drinking so nicely now. Showing great complexity and mouth feel.
Nicely balanced with a soft mouthfeel. Peaking now, spicy and elegant.
Good right out of the bottle, and better after 30 minutes of airtime.
I had it before, and this time I did not decant it, but just let it open in the glass. I liked it even better this time around.
A good sipping wine that doesn't need food at all, but good with food too. Paired beautifully with prosciutto and Brie cheese.
93 points.

Los Pilares San Diego County Red Blend 2013: Fresh. Natural. Extraordinary. Consisting of 50% Grenache & 50% Carignan, this was a light-bodied, extremely unique wine. Red fruits (cranberry & cherry). Plum. Earth. Short finish. For me, the wine was a bit thin on structure but very clean & natural tasting. This was my first San Diego County wine and it left me quite intrigued & impressed. Hoping to explore other San Diego wines in the near future. Cheers🍷 — 2 years ago

Lemon-grapefruit aroma and flavor with a smooth finish, nice introduction to a sparkling rosé from a part of CA not as famous for wine — 14 hours ago
