Delectable, this is Chateau Saint-Roch's Kerbuccio grenache blend. Nice wine that's full bodied and heavy. Good for this evening's cool temps. Plum, blueberry, tobacco, spice. Soft and short finish, but very enjoyable. I had the cheaper counterpart the other night, and this one scores a point higher. Also 65% Grenache 35% Syrah.

Superb nose with licorice, blackberry, garrigue, other red fruits. This is very intense and inviting. The palate shows a very nice strong acid drive and a great width, with matter on the sides. Licorice and blackberry play back to back notes all along. The mouthfeel is soft, until mid palate where some dusty tannins spice things up a notch. Very long finish with that tannic grain, licorice and blackberry. I'm probably biased as this is my uncle's wine (he bought shares in the vineyard 2 years ago) but this is one of the best grenache blend I've had. More Maury sec please!

Not what I ordered (the server messed up), but it was perfect with the cassoulet. I’d happily order it again. — 2 months ago

Grenache from Catalonia from winemaker Richard Case who makes Dave Phinney’s D66 project out of Maury. The donkey is the symbol of Catalonia thus the label. Beautiful red color and fresh on the palate upon opening. Starts to be a touch oxidative on the second day but still possessing great fruit. Have loved the other wine from Pertuisane and this is also a great example of Grenache from this region. — 6 years ago
