Began in 1944, Mario Incisa acquired Cab Sauv & Franc vine cuttings, planted them on San Guido estate, called Castiglioncello, Sassicaia, "the place of many stones". A blend of 85% Cab Sauv, 15% Cab Franc. Lovely ripe fruit & spice aromas. Bold berry fruit flavors with spice, oak, leather & cacao, a powerhouse. Soft tannins allows current enjoyment. Long silky smooth fresh finish ending with fruit, oak and spice. Great now, will age, but drink now, outstanding. Little pricey at $300. Tasting Sample. — 3 years ago
Fantastic chilled red. Super drinkable. Would be great for summer BBQs. — 4 years ago
Medium ruby color with aromas of ripe red fruits and elegant hints of floral. On the palate flavors of black cherry, raspberry and plum with hints of fig and tobacco. Tannins are fine and round, a tad young with high acidity noted. The finish is medium, smooth and ends with oak and earthy mineral notes. Very nice. Needs time. — 5 years ago
Found this old bottle from some old buddies who got me into wine. Lost track of the over them years but so nice to find this bottle so many years later. Dusty, salty, dry, a little Sangiovese spice. Love it!

Nose is intense. Some peach. Some white truffle? Very good.
Palate is peach juice. Good balance. Some spice. Delicious. Good acidity.

Opened and let the wine breathe while our roast cooked. Aromas of dark berries that linger after a sip. Good tannin structure and acidity. Would cellar nicely. Went well with our beef pot roast. — 7 months ago
Vintage 2020 | My goodness, this mocca bomb is terrific! Compelling smell with wagonloads of mocca, but also black pepper, milkchocolate, cedar and vanilla. The taste is velvety with soft tannins that do not disturb. Drink it now. Did not know that Tuscan Syrah could be this good. Paired with zucchini tarts and a deer burger. — a year ago
Very enjoyable, plum/cherry notes, touch of sweet, low tanins — 5 years ago
