RPF Reserva Personal de la Familia Progreso Tannat 2018

Rich smoke and toasty tannins on the nose.
Meaty taste with berry flavor. This is a thickly characteristic Tannat grape, and it's my first. Shiraz energy with a cab invitation.
Energetic and lively, something to talk about.

A6 Parcela Unica Tannat 2012

Absolutely best Tannant I’ve ever tasted. Very deep ruby color with some brownish tones but almost impenetrable. Beautiful nose with forest floor, game blood, ripe red fruit, and a bit of oak. The pallet is is pure finesse with an balanced and embolden mouthfeel. Fruit and iron are dominant with a long slightly tannic (still) finish. Impressive. — a month ago

Uruguay Sauvignon Blanc 2018

Complex aromas of red cherry, herbs and spices, cedar. Lively tart cherry acidity, peppery tannins, smooth body. Incredibly balanced for a $12 wine, and more evidence that I like this grape, just not the fruit-bomb oak-bomb CA version! — a month ago

Río de Los Pájaros Reserve Tannat Blend

Strawberry scent, liquor smell, fortified wine smell, vanilla bean smell, oak, fruit roll up, very intriguing, makes for a very pleasant experience, savory. Long lingering finish, — 5 days ago

Bodega Garzon

Reserva Marselan 2016

Great expression of the Hybrid Marselan grape. So much better than I expected. Tasted side by side with a Marselan from Southern France. Though both were quite good, the Garzon version won the competition. Deep red color. Aromas and flavors of red fruit, minerals and menthol. Sweet spices on the long finish. Medium-plus body. Has the power of Cabernet Sauvignon and the brightness of Grenache. Quite expressive. Solid value. Very pleasant surprise. — 2 months ago

Río de Los Pájaros Reserve Progreso Torrontés 2020

Star bright yellow gold. Inviting nose of earthy lemon and marzipan. Firm, zingy acidity from entry to finish on the medium full palate which yields lemon zest, concrete block, and citrus rind. Finish is moderate and lemony. This full-bodied style of Torrontes is an excellent foil for hearty seafood or pork dishes: a perfect white counterpart to Uruguay’s signature red variety, Tannat. Drink now through 2025 or a little beyond. — a month ago
