WOW, what a pleasant surprise! We received this wine as a gift, so we did not expect much. We were wrong, wonderful wine. Thick long lasting legs. Deep dense color. Wonderful nose, rich with plum, prune oaks and very fruit forward. Lots of flavor. The plum/prune notes were wonderful. Very smooth with lite oak notes on the finish. Very low tannins. This yellow-gold wine rings the “old-style Cali” bell in all the right ways. A nose of apricots, mangoes and apples is helped along with the smell of buttered popcorn. Oak treats the palate as well, draping over the tropical fruit like a sunshade. The acidity is zesty, yet the mouthfeel tends toward creaminess due to the wine sitting on the lees for five months. The oak is a definite part of the wine, but the effect is softened enough so that it's a pleasure, not a pain. — 8 years ago

Cloudy pale to mid gold in colour. A skins contact, white wine fermented in Clay Amphora in Sicily. Aromas of apricot, orange blossom and a little white pepper. On the palate a lot going on - full flavoured at only 12.0% alcohol and low acid - apricots and cumquat with the skins bitterness to finish off. Unique and an absolute mouthful of flavour.
