Tenuta dell'Ornellaia

Bolgheri Red Bordeaux Blend 2007

Darker fruit and smoke, lower acidity and beautiful tannins. Still a young wine. — 10 days ago

Tenuta Sette Ponti

Oreno Toscana Super Tuscan Blend 2019

It’s still too young for me but I wanted to pull one. Medium nose where I get a bit of green-ness. The finish is light and there is a bit of green on the palate as well. Hoping the rest get better with age. — 13 days ago

Even in its youth, I’d expect a better showing than what you experienced. This hailed from a strong vintage in Tuscany. I hope it puts on some weight for you.

Argiano

Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2018

2008 vintage. Decanted and tasted after two hours. Medium-heavy body. Juicy introduction with a firm, tannic handshake directly thereafter. Nice first impression of the 2018 tasting now but 3-5 years from now likely leads to a better opinion. 4.26.24. — 19 hours ago

Casanova di Neri

Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2019

Really very nice and giving quite generously even at this relatively young age. Good sign for 2019 in general. Great depth, nice darker red fruit and flowers, and good acid on the finish with some real seamlessness. Quite enjoyable. — 9 days ago

Isole e Olena

Cepparello Toscana Sangiovese 2017

Iodine rich, dense cherry with a silky, pull you back in. Plenty of range from fish to duck to venison. Sexy stuff. 40th bday. — 8 days ago

Masseto

Toscana Merlot 2018

Rare sighting. Lucky to drink them side by side. Both a bit young and powerful with so much aging potential. Massetino is mostly Merlot with some Cab Franc. Masseto is all Merlot. Distinctly different though. Massetino being the more robust and Masseto being the more elegant. Then again. So much potential. — 21 days ago
