Surprised to find this, was CVed! Drinking great, shocking fresh and lifted profile, 27 years and it’s alive and kicking strong in a major way. It actually went well with Evan’s sushi bake of salmon and crab! Who’d guess! — 8 months ago
Honey and ripe pear. Lifted aromas. Great density on the palate and lingering acidity. — 2 years ago
The 2019 Pinot Noir Jolie is the most ethereal and lifted of these Pinots. Crushed red berry fruit, cedar, mint and orange peel hover across the palate. Understated and classy to the core, the 2019 is impeccably balanced, not to mention a real charmer. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, January 2023) — 3 years ago
Levet is always one of my favorites. unfortunately these wines are getting harder and harder to find.
Black pepper, pastille, “Australian licorice”, black currant, black cherry, dried thyme/sage. It’s showing more fruit than I remember (this vintage? The point in its development?), but the fruit is pretty and lifted and not overripe. Of course, this wine is still showing the dirt under its fingernails—just enough barnyard filth to make it a proper syrah. Ripe, silky tannins. So much finesse.
Cote Rotie was the perfect red to pair with everyone’s entrees: duck, pork chop, wagyu, roast chix. — 4 years ago

A fascinating blend of Walla Walla Valley Syrah and Dundee Hills Pinot Noir, aged 18 months in 60% new French oak.
The nose opens with a subtle but distinct barnyard funk of leather, cured meat, and earthy spice layered over dried cherry and blackberry. The palate is cleaner and more composed, showing plum, cranberry, fig, and cedar. Silky tannins and lifted acidity carry a lingering savory finish.

Classic. Just classic on the color and nose. On the palate it has finer tannins, lifted acidity, and a long, polished finish that lingers on cassis and earth. One of the oldest Lafite’s I’ve tasted and feels like in last another couple of decades. Easy. — 9 months ago
The 2022 Pinot Noir Dundee Hills wafts up a delicately spicy blend of dusty black cherries, ground cloves and dried roses. It is round and supple yet lifted in feel, with crisp red berry fruits elevated by a core of zesty acidity as hints of sour citrus add cheek-puckering tension. This tapers off long and perfumed with a bed of crunchy tannins that frames the experience remarkably well. I would never guess that the 2022 hails from a warm vintage. Fresh and lifted on the nose. A hint of honey, slate and lime. Very balanced and refreshing. Excellent — 3 years ago
Outrageous. Intense pretty and bright. Lemon curd, orange rind, lifted zesty fruit. Just spectacular — 9 months ago
Intensely lifted, fresh, and concentrated and showing incredible youth at nearly a decade in bottle. Perfectly ripe blackberries and black cherries are enveloped by aromas and flavors of fresh ground coffee, wet fall leaves, leather, menthol, and vanilla. The wine finishes long and with a crave-worthy mineral/graphite finish. This can cellar for years to come but is excellent now with herb-roasted lamb chops or grilled steak tips. Delicious! — 3 years ago
Entry level Valtellina showing some age w/beautiful amber bricking, ruby see thru - showing elegantly styled rose petals, tart cherry, bit dusty, some tar & soil but overall more lifted & light on its feet. Med bodied (this has no doubt shed some weight) on palate, more tart fruit & secondary flavors, needed more structure & acidity. Close out price of well under $20 was a fantastic deal. Def drink up! PS: bump for 2nd night showing — 4 years ago
