Château Léoville-Las Cases

Grand Vin de Leoville du Marquis de las Cases Saint-Julien Red Bordeaux Blend 1986

Youthful, full bodied, old school style of Bordeaux with sweet black fruits, cassis, cedar, leather, graphite, spice box, cigar ash & tobacco notes. No rush with many years ahead — 7 days ago

Weirdly flat and unexpressive. Maybe just in a dumb stage — 21 days ago

Stunning fruit.a whiff of matchstick… oh there but great tension and balance. This has a long life ahead now but is a primal joy right now — 2 months ago

Château Bel Air-Marquis d'Aligre

Margaux Red Bordeaux Blend 2010

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of one week. Consistently enjoyable throughout but it seemed to be at its very best around Day 3 through Day 7 (when I enjoyed the last pour). The 2010 pours, a deep garnet color with a near opaque core and showing some slight rim variation; medium+ viscosity and moderate staining of the tears with some sign of sediment. On the nose, the wine is developing with tart and ripe notes of cassis, plums, tobacco, Fresno chilis, purple flowers, dry leaves, organic earth and faint baking spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The fruit is a touch more tart on the palate and there is also a sort of dry leather note that I didn’t get on the nose. The finish is medium+. A mesmerizing, dense wine that certainly has a very long road ahead. Great stuff. Drink now with patience through 2050 (assuming good cellar conditions). — 17 days ago

Clos De La Roilette

Clos de la Roilette Griffe du Marquis Fleurie Gamay 2018

As good as Beaujolais gets. From the oldest vines at Roilette. Have had numerous bottles of Griffe and it always delivers. Darker and heavier then typical Cru Beaujolais. More cherry and less berry flavor. Little tannic and ages well. Just getting harder to secure bottles. — a month ago

Château Marquis de Terme

Margaux Red Bordeaux Blend 2016

Slightly fresher & more exotic be the Batailley.
Black fruit galore, cedar wood, minty whiffs, exotic spice.
Soft & quite mellow on the palate. Yet fresh. The tannins are so finely grained & juicy - dusty, sandy fine. Poised, so elegant, classic Bordeaux. Great mid palate, nice length & depth. This is probably at a perfect drinking window right now. So delightful.

Les Charmes Sancerre Sauvignon Blanc 2021

Always been a great fan of Sancerre Rouge, this one is absolute gold, lovely delicate berries, light, and an absolute joy, replaces definately Rosé as a summer wine — a month ago
