Heavy notes of tobacco, earth, black dirt, and dark cherries. Raisins on the nose. Sharp alcoholic finish — 17 hours ago
2021/3. Red and blue fruit, but also powdery and compacted - even a relatively “straightforward” St. Joseph like this probably needs more time to come together — 9 hours ago
Absolutely delicious Syrah. Decanted for 5 hours which was a good call. Very deep red verging on purple in the glass. A ton of beautiful dark red fruit, some olives, some meat, but mostly just deep dark fruit. After the decant the tannins are really very seamless. Very nice acid on the finish. Absolutely perfect with a beautiful rack of lamb for Easter dinner. — 7 days ago
In a great place. This shows the glory of 2015. Smokey meats, olive and granite on the nose. Palate is complex right now and so pure, energetic and fresh. Terrific integration of fruit, tannins, granite, acid. Just so long as well. Black fruits bursting in your mouth slathered in granite. Wow this is long. Really long. Yup. A 9.4. — 20 days ago
Nose is graphite.
Palate - silky texture. Graphite blended with blackberry.
Let’s see how this develops.
As this opens it’s definitely a graphite blackberry melange kind of thing. Good grip. Quite focused. Cerebral in a sense. Like this silky almost lilac extract on the palate.
If I had this blind I’d guess st jo on the nose and cote rotie on the palate.

Bright magenta color. Bramble berry pie, smoked game, and peppercorn. Suave with a masculine feel. Ample tannin supports blue and black fruits. Super solid. — 7 days ago
