Classical style between Bordeaux (cab-sauvignon Merlot , oak) and Rhône by its alcoholic side and the presence of Syrah. The colour is dense, dark, and a beautiful viscosity. Nose offers its share of ripe black fruits, spices, scrubland. Volume, concentration and intensity. 2015 is ready to drink; the ardour of youth finding balance today in a wine that has enough to age for several years in the cellar. 🇲🇦
Medium straw . Quite green fruit nose , quince , bruised apple , white flowers . On the palate more strict quince fruit with a prominent mineral , chalky , oyster shell notes . Orange peel , white pepper on the finish with decent length with saline tinge . Really quite distinct, for drinking now and over the next 5-7 years . — 2 months ago
The Ariston Aspasie Cépages d'Antan is a blend of one grape that is nearly extinct in Champagne, Petit Meslier and two rare grapes that get blended into Champagne. It parses into 40% Petit Meslier, 40% Arbanne, and 20% Pinot Blanc. None of the three main grapes; Chardonnay, Pinot Noir & Pinot Meunier
Crazy good body and super soft mouthfeel. There is soft precision in the palate. Excellent micro oxygenation. Shades of the 2007 Taittinger Comte’s. Leads with the white citruses.- lime, lemon, grapefruit, kiwi, some pineapple juice, tropical green melon, what softer than soft powdery chalkiness, limestone, volcanics just as soft, spring flowers for days, perfect acidy and a purely beautifully balanced, knitted, length that has length and a singing finish that goes on and on. @ K&L Champagne tasting. — 5 months ago
Tasted blind, 4 wines, 3 varietals. The 3 of us had the same ranking in terms if the wines, this one came in no 1 for all of us. Expressive typical Chard nose of lemon, touch of butter, slight oak but nothing disturbing, nice acidity, tense and saline, mineral, just enough roundness to make it a good balance, excellent and great level for a St-Romain. 90-91

Bone dry, peppery, graphite. A little apple/pear. Some mild Brett funk. Mild astringency on finish. — a month ago
I’m rating this high just for the reason that most would not expect this Sonoma Blend to last this long & taste so good. No bricking whatsoever, plenty of fruit left with no stewed fruits on the nose.
I remember buying the 1995 when it first hit the store shelves for $25.00, it was the first time paying more than $15.00 for a bottle of wine! The only reason I bought it was because I liked the name🙄 turned out to be a very good rookie purchase unlike most of my rookie mistakes. — 2 months ago
