Good wine. Very round and smooth. Fruity. Found from my neighborhood wine guy for $28. — 4 months ago
Raspberry, tart cherry, and cranberry on the nose. Tart cherry, strawberry, cranberry, cinnamon, and minerals on the palate. High alcohol, medium tannins, and high acid with a medium finish. — 6 months ago
A Talbot blanc with a bit of age on it. This is a tribute to Jean Pierre Marty, former wine director at Talbot and my father's best pal from the University who passed a bit over a year ago.
The color is a golden hue with almost a lemon peel nuance. The nose is marked by lemon and vanilla with some hay and flowery notes too. The palate shows a great acid drive, some nice lemony notes and a great width, some nice grip and a long finish with lemon, vanilla notes that last for a good minute... Bright light purple dress. Pure explosive nose on fruits (red and black) and flowers, typical of carbonic maceration. In mouth the first is light, airy, confirming the nose; carried by a beautiful necessary freshness balancing the little terroir extraction. A modern, "natural" wine, on the fruits at first fond that does not prevent a certain complexity from expressing itself on a peppery and mineral finish. A very beautiful juice to drink from the aperitif, which blindly could pass for a rosé.
— 5 months ago
NOSE: barnyard, yeast, blackberry, cassis, minerals. A little bit of BBQ. A little more blackberry comes out if you sniff deeply, but not much.
TASTE: nice medium-weight, earthy, blackberry, balanced wine. Pretty smooth. You can tell it’s young, but it’s still quite good, if a little simple. 91. More fruit comes out with more air. — 3 months ago

The 2001 Le Clos du Caillou Reserve is probably the most thrilling effort made by the late Jean-Denis Vacheron. Deep garnet in color, the wine displays intense aromas of dried provence herbs, iodine, dried strawberries, red cherries and plums, blackberry liquor, leather, forrest floor and a dash of white pepper. Full-bodied, the palate is almost overwhelmed by insane levels of fruit concentration and elevated alcohol, but there is just enough acidity to keep everything in balance. The long lasting, persistent finish confirms a wine of outstanding quality. Drink now until 2030. — a month ago
