@Delectable Thanks for adding this wine. However, it’s Man in the Moon, not Main. Please correct. Thanks.
Interesting story how this appointment came together. I reached out to Peter Allan from Crystallum for a visit. He was out of the country on a post harvest vacation and couldn’t meet. He did connect me to his good friend John Seccombe who makes Thorne and Daughters wines. John was nice enough to step in and present Peter’s Crystallum wines and John’s Thorne & Daughter wines that he makes at Gabrielskloof. This is where we met and my photos were taken. John also worked in some of the wines from Gabrielskloof. It ended up working out to be a very good three producer tasting.
As for the “Man in the Moon.” The nose reveals; touch of sour Lemonheads, apple, peach, lime, lighter tropical melons, very overripe pineapple, orange with peel, fruit blossoms, cream, a touch of vanilla, fresh greens, soft powdery chalkiness and grainy light intensity minerality.
The palate shows, slightly sour lemon, apple, peach, lime, lighter tropical melons, very overripe pineapple, orange with peel, fruit blossoms, cream, a touch of vanilla, fresh greens, very light powdery chalkiness, grainy soft intensity minerals, yellow flowers with very nice round acidity. The finish is well balanced, polished & easy to drink.

A big one. I didn’t pair it correctly as this need something rich and fatty. Really bold profile but excellent balance and elegance. — 25 days ago
Enough complexity, enough acidities, enough body, great harmony, 99,99% pure and absolutely no hint of superficiality. Cleaner than Pradeaux or Gaussen and earthier than Pibarnon and Tempier. Tastes exactly right. — 5 days ago
This wine has really changed quite a bit in the last two and a half months. This used to be quite a bit more tropical and acidic, but today's bottle opened showed more of an amber hue and nose of buttered popcorn and caramel. The palate seems to have more of an overripe red apple, and resembles more of an apple cider then wine. Finishes with a dried nut note. Not too sure what to think about this. All I know is that this one is nothing like the bottle I had in February. Good, but nowhere near great. If this was my first score for this wine, I would probably give it an 88.if you have any of these, I would either hold on to them for another six months in case this one is in a really funky spot, or drink them all now. — 18 days ago
— 13 days ago
Better concentration/complexity than typical, shows lot of intensity and impact, without being forceful and artificial. — 5 days ago

Awesome single varietal from a grape that is rarely seen alone. Restrained, balanced and great acid. Went great with sushi. — 12 hours ago
