Golden yellow. High viscosity. Cherry like, oxidized flavor. Chalk and minerals. Herbaceous Spices. Matured citrus. Nuts. Medical herb acidity and sourness. Slightly honey sweet. Complexity even in young vintage. Savagnin Domaine Philippe Vandelle 19 @4675, Toscan, 240824-240921 — 8 months ago
Open in the morning just to give it a slow dose of air, the most incredible DRC nose ever and i am lucky to have drank quite a few, and one of the most amazing nose on a wine i ever saw. Layers and layers of complexity. The palate is classy, elegant, deep and gorgeous, not the most powerful but what a wine, the length is unbelievable. — 2 years ago
Excellent ! Smooth and easy — 3 months ago
Possibly one of my desert island wines ( assuming there is food & a few other wines I can bring…). Jura chard w some Savignin, done in an oxidative, full bodied style. Have come back to this most years & never tires. The color! Amber yellow w orange & sienna tints; on nose my old painting studio with oils, hearts of palm, & orange peel. On palate full & more refined than the nose, with white asparagus, dried mango, & cooked fennel, amongst other flavors. Had post meal, was like a meal unto itself. — 6 months ago
Great fun Jura, associations to calvados — 10 months ago
Nutty, sweet, floral and bright. Bruised apple, pear, and spice. Very complex and juicy, with a pleasantly astringent finish. — 6 months ago
Not as clean or expressive as previous bottles. Will see if it opens up this evening. — 8 months ago
Full bodied and complex wine. Notes of blackberry, currant, pepper and floral. Wine feels a bit young even after decanting for 2+ hours. Excited to see what it will be in a handful of years. — 3 years ago

This is a totally brilliant wine. Just outrageous. The nose is a 10. Caramel, ocean air, salt, fresh wood shavings, burnt embers, tea leaves, just unreal. Completely blown away. You cannot ask for anything more. It’s so expressive yet so grounded. Absolute peak aromatic brilliance. It is so scary elegant you think it’s floating but that saltiness kicks in while swishing and then icing on a cake like a dry Mosel but unreal clarity and richness to the salty nutty flavors and just thunderous acidity. The elegance and inner mouth aromas and flavor intensity are just incredible. This and the 2010 are neck and neck. — 23 days ago
