A well aged Cabernet Sauvignon is superb .. and this was a perfect example. Dusky, almost smoky and silky smooth. The tannins so well rounded it seems to form a ball of liquid gold across the palate. Simply bloody awesome!! — 4 months ago
From the disappointing wet 2011 vintage in South Australia where many producers did not produce a wine, but, typically with old vine fruit from Wendouree, this showed well. Quite ripe considering the vintage, yet medium weight palate - liquorice and spice notes with excellent intensity. Those old vines cover a multitude of sins like a cold wet vintage. 11 years is rather young for a Wendouree but given the vintage this was very polished. Has enough guts to have another 5+ years in the cellar. — 2 years ago
The “King of Chardonnay” Mike Grgich farms w/o pesticides and certified organic. Aged 10 months, no MLF. Medium lemon color with aromas of stone & citrus fruits. On the palate flavors of apple, pear & lemon citrus flavors, with honeysuckle, vanilla & toasty oak notes. Nice balance with acidity on long finish with a toasty mineral ending. Not your typical CA Chard, very nice! — 19 days ago
This is great. I was expecting fire and jam, but got a lovely nose with purple plums, black pepper, a bit of jalapeño berry jam, baking spice, and good acidity. For the price, fantastic. For a funny label wine, maybe the best I’ve had. Would love to see this in a blind tasting. — 3 months ago
Bought in Oregon - dry - loved it - drinking with Patty on trip out West in Washington. Taste of Pear and apple. Smooth. — 3 years ago
Mid yellow in colour. Musky notes with a little talc - white and yellow flowers. On the palate lovely ripe peach flavours. Incredible flavour intensity. Irresistible. Low acid. Definitely one of Australia’s best dry Rieslings. No notes of TDN. Have the last one in a year or two. See previous Delectable note 6 years ago in June 2018 when it was carrying more citric acid. — 2 months ago
Super quaffable #pinotgris - apple, white peach aromas, weighty palate with lots of acidity, green apple, peach, goes down too easy. Great QPR for under $8 #costcowines — 7 months ago
Good Riesling, but opened way too early. This wine is a good but not fully developed. There are flavors of apricot and nectarine once open for a long time. But I can tell that in 5 years, this will be much improved. Try then (2028) not now. And if opening now, leave open 3 hours before consuming. In any event, at $25, this is a great value. — 2 years ago

Ruby/crimson in colour - a tawny rim developing. A little porty to begin with - the trademark Wendouree/Clare Valley menthol/eucalyptus. A note of Iodine. Very earthy on the palate. This wine speaks of the ancient terroir where vines have been planted since the 1880’s. Full bodied, intense and powerful even at 25 years of age. A true icon of Australian wine but even Wendouree Shiraz does have an end point and I think this 1999 has reached its peak. — a month ago
