Alma Mater Gamay 2016

A bit of funk. But it’s worth it.

Fresh. Blackberries. Licorice. Wow.

Domaine le Peu de la Moriette

Vouvray Chenin Blanc 2019

Jean-Claude Pichot’s family is one of the oldest in Vouvray, with origins dating back to 1739. 100% Chenin Blanc, with aromas of fresh tropical fruits, blossom and honey nuts. On the palate peach, pineapple and melon with lime citrus, vivid acidity, good balance with a touch of sweetness on the medium finish. Nice! Consistent quality. — a month ago

Cuvée de Fous Brouilly Gamay 2017

Going on 5 yrs, thought I’d give this unusual Cru Bojo from Brouilly a try. It’s singularity is first hinted at with a 14.5% abv; it also needs air & time to really come together; finally, it has some serious tannins. Like arid desert dry tannins, or something that one would get in only a Southern French red— like Madiran ( Tannat) or Cot (Malbec). At end of day, needed a good decant or another 3/4 yrs. — a month ago
