Nose has crushed cherries & raspberries, ripe summer watermelon, steely notes and faint moist chalk.
Palate has tart raspberry, watermelon rind and fresh cherries. Nice acidity.
A fun wine for an almost 80°F day in the Berkshires, atypical for early April. I believe this to be our first 2020 vintage wine.

Lovely ruby red translucent color with aromas of black cherries and hint of blackberries. On the palate heavy over ripe fruit with high alcohol. Nonetheless in the mouth rich Pinot flavors that may mello with age. — 2 days ago

Unscrew and pour. Super savory: black cherry, coffee, earth, damp leaf. singed herbs. I tried to entice my in-laws with this (and it was a good pairing for dinner, I swear) but it stood next to a Clos Vougeot, which although from '11 was more forward. Oh well, I enjoyed this. Palate has dried black cherry, ripe black currant, ripe plum, wet tree bark, molasses bread and under-ripe cherry, slightly tart with medium tannins.
Bottled under Stelvin closure, opened for slow oxidation 6H, then decanted 2H, more time appreciated. Notes to be updated.
Nose exudes ripe, sappy dark red fruits, just overrunning the Gabriel Glas, light (warm) molasses, brown bread dough and black cherry syrup reduction. Palate is crazy, all prior traits but with a sweet reduction and the acidity actually picked up. Moving this score from 9.4 to 9.5, likely one of the finest red German wines I've ever tasted.
