Very nice, not happened across this bottle yet 👍

Fattoria La Gerla

Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2004

A strapping wine with big frame, but I really didn’t enjoy the heavy handed oak treatment which left no joy to be found. Heavy and disappointing. That was the first sip soon after opening… 7.5 pts… A day or two later this was more like it with actually a decent large frame and plenty of secondary flavours including some iris, meat, leather and black cherry… 9.0+ — 4 months ago

Domaine des Grands Fers

Vieilles Vignes Fleurie Gamay

Fresh, greedy cuvée. Fruit notes (dark cherry) supported by floral touches (rose, iris, violet) and a nice aromatic concentration carried by old vines. It’s peppery, with fine but persistent tannins. Nice bottle for its price.

Lismore

Pinot Noir 2011

Purple hue. A little closed on the nose - iris and blueberry coming through with coaxing. A mouth filling palate that appears to have show a warm year, fairly sweet and a little thick, perhaps lacking the of freshness and length of the 2018 reserve. Mix of black currant and bilberry flavours. Not as easy to like as the 18 and less clear ageing trajectory. — 4 months ago

Pale straw w/greenish hue - expressive nose of sweet citrus & honeydew melon + some tropical fruit. Quite the SB nose, silky suave mouthfeel and a beautiful harmony of fruit, texture & acidity. Not Alsatian style - I’d say very New World and impressive. — 6 months ago

Château Branaire (Duluc-Ducru)

St. Julien- Beychevelle Red Bordeaux Blend 2004

I could smell the empty bottle all day long. Massive floral tones - lilac, iris, lily etc. 1hr+ decant. Medium red color with some rust hues. This was a mix of CDP, Red Burg, and Bordeaux. I’ve had a lot of this producer and this bottle was different, not bad by any means, but it was either due to vintage, age, not having Bordeaux in a bit, or dare I say a fake. It was really enjoyable but wouldn’t have guessed Bordeaux or this producer blind. — 3 months ago

That was my impression with their 2018. That was my introduction to the winery. Seemed like a 12-15 year aged Bordeaux.

"Cuvée Corcelette" Morgon Gamay 2018

Among the summits of the Beaujolais is this Morgon de Foillard. Accessible to immediate pleasure but nevertheless rich deep and complex. The aromas are revealed in a sturry way, as a story. Fruity attack (red) pink floral note, iris, peony, herbaceous notes, infused. Depthensity and paradoxical lightness. In my top 5 Ever. ❤️

Christopher's Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

Hello. Have we met before??? This is love at first sight, first taste. Incredible complexity and depth with lingering intensity. Near perfect structure and feel. I’m super into the game-y dried meats underlying overtones of blackberry fruit, raspberry jam, and brilliant iris and violet nose. I can almost chew it and I wish I could. — 6 months ago
