Krettnacher Euchariusberg Kabinett Riesling 2020

This is the Förster AP 3. Gorgeous, scintillating, kabi; fresh and apple-cheeked, puckering fruit, lime, hint of honey & petrol, balanced acidity. Beautiful bottle. ❤️ — 2 days ago

Nothing to add to@Lyle Fass comments below. Way too young to snarf up now. — 2 months ago

Brut Sekt Saar Riesling 2015

Sturdy

Found these in the cellar, sleeping longer than I meant. Would they be over the hill?

Color is a nice medium golden and the bubbles are small and persistent

👃Pronounced minerality on the nose with grapefruit and apples. Smells rich

👅 Picks up momentum with air and warming. Mostly simple flavors of apples and grapefruit but with very nice slatey minerality. Slight sweetness, nice balance, refreshing acidity, and tight bubbles. Simple, easy drinker

Works with food or it is tasty by itself much in the way a cold beer is tasty and refreshing

Hasn’t lost a step since release

Wow, quite a surprise. Don’t know how you get such intensity in a wine that seems so light and delicate. Focused but intense acidity. Already bought more. — 4 days ago

Like this English garden on the nose.

Palate is laser minerals. Clean. Focused. Essence of green apple.

Needs 45 minutes.

Prominent acidity, leave it till around 15 oC and wow: in balance; light with only 7.5% 👍 — 7 months ago

Perhaps the best example of resiling I have ever had the opportunity to sample.

Dry, but lots of honey on the finish. Pear up front. One of my favorite whites

Niedermenninger Herrenberg Trocken Red Blend 2019

Delectable Wine
9.1

Toasty, sweaty and smoked meat notes vie with dried cherry and red currant for aromatic attention on the nose of the 2019 Red Wine Niedermenniger Herrenberg trocken. The palate perpetuates those impressions with an alluringly silky feel allied to just enough juiciness. Rose hip, cherry pit, black tea and black pepper lend complexity to an impressively sustained finish. (For why this 100% Pinot Noir is labeled simply, in English, “Red Wine,” consult my review of the corresponding 2017.) (David Schildknecht, Vinous, May 2022)

Oberemmler Karlsberg trocken Kabinett Riesling 2017

Good phase, it has shed the most youthful aromas of pear candy and is mainly about lemon, lime, petroleum and stone. Mouthwatering acidity and good length. — 5 months ago
