Pale white with a pale golden refraction. Floral, perfumed notes in nose. Litchi with slight grapefruit flavor, moderate skin astringency with mild seed tannin bitterness. Good body, acidity, rounded mouthfeel. Chrysanthemum with some green tea aftertaste. Lovely stuff, reminds me of the subtle flavor profiles I experienced living in Guangdong Province (Cantonese cuisine) — 6 days ago
It’s been years since I’d last checked on Peter Stolpman’s offerings and wow...I shouldn’t have waited so long. I had forgotten how good his Ballard Canyon Syrah is 😐 So plush and suave with fantastic texture. Notes of juicy plums, blackberries, baking spices, eucalyptus, and sweet pipe tobacco. Awesome juice 👊🏻 — 3 days ago
Not had wine from this producer before, but I adore this vineyard, and at a close out price, I wanted to give it a try.
As expected for Bien Nacido, there was a savory note on the nose with some smoked meat and iron, wrapped around rhubarb tart and candied black cherries. On the palate, it was quite light and semi acidic, with hardly any finish. I’m assuming there was a small use of whole cluster here due to the spice and lifted profile, but aside from that, it was fairly easy going with potpourri, bing cherries, and some cedar. — 19 days ago
A blend of 47% Syrah, 28% Cab Sauv and adding Cab Franc, Sangiovese, Viognier, Petit Verdot & Metlot. Deep Ruby with complex aromas of dark fruit, spice, almonds and wet earth. On the palate blackberry, currant and raspberry flavors, soft tannins on a long finish ending with leather, pepper and oak tones. Very Nice, a beauty. — 17 days ago
