A wildly spicy Valpolicella with a sour citrus twang contrasting rich cherry-berry fruits. Long and full of character, this juicy, high-energy effort leans more toward blue/purple fruits throughout the finale. There’s a lot of pleasure to be found here. $20.00 (Eric Guido, Vinous, February 2021) — 8 days ago
Creamy and big-flavoured.
It is effervescent in that the bubbles themselves are streaming constantly and furiously. But without overwhelming the flavours themselves. — a month ago
2017 tasted in 2021. Without decanting it’s too young and strong oak flavour. After decanting the potential of this wine is enormous. Blackberry, Cherry, cinnamon on top of young oak flavour just gorgeous. Perhaps I had to keep this for another 5 years or so to open the full potential — 2 days ago
Excellent Langhe Nebbiolo. One of the best I’ve had. — 19 days ago
This Soave blends savory and sweet with a spicy flair. It’s soft and pliant upon entry, yet enlivened by salty minerals and brisk acids, making for a wonderfully balanced showing. The palate sizzles with residual tension, as hints of sour citrus resonate throughout the finale. $19.00 (Eric Guido, Vinous, February 2021) — 11 days ago
Technically not a lessona in 2010 bc he didn’t fill out the paperwork.
Nose is lovely dusty cherry flower. Very pretty. Maybe some pink rose. Some raisins.
You get some raisins on the palate. Lovely texture. Delicious in an unusual sort of way. You get that Raisin but an elegant Raisin without the weight and alcoholic oomph Of say an amarone.
Terrific elegant finish.
A very distinctive wine. In a good way.
