Edmunds St. John

Rocks and Gravel Dry Creek Valley Grenache Blend 2014

Second to last vintage of this wine that Steve Edmunds produced. It was special before he decided to hang things up and even more so now. Cali GSM with true old world sensibility — 12 days ago

Château Batailley

Pauillac Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

Very open & enticing.
Ripe black currant, cassis, some pot pouri, a bit of cedar wood. But there’s also savoury gravel type minerality.
On the palate this is perfectly balanced - medium bodied, with beautiful juicy, velvety tannins. So fine & polished. Creamy black fruit. So poised & elegant.
Drinking beautifully right now!

Château Léoville Poyferré

Saint Julien Red Bordeaux Blend 2015

Very dark ruby color. Medium plus acidity with grippy tannins. Needs a lot of air and much better the next day. Smell of dark fruit, tobacco notes. On the palate more earthy notes of gravel, tar, graphite with coffee and dark fruit. Will improve with age. — 2 months ago

Promontory

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2009

Believe this is the 1st vintage released to the public. At age 15 finally decided to pop a bottle and see what's what.

+1 hour decant(some fine/cloudy sediment). A striking still inky dark magenta color. On the nose: subdued nose of dark fruit, graphite, clove, forest floor, smokey vanilla. Taste: silky, rich, nice depth mouthcoating wine with blackberry, gravel, baked fig, rich soil, and a dark chocolate tobacco finish with some slightly chewy tannins and a just a touch of heat at the end. YUM!

Château Talbot

Saint-Julien Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2019

Quite smoky & raw. Gravel & raw cacao. The fruit really hidden right now. Barely hinted. After some time a bit of cassis emerges.
Dense on the palate. And quite burly. Big tannins, juicy yet very present. Great depth. Roast, cacao, very masculine.
This is way too early to drink this, still needs time to settle down. Brilliant but way too young.
