Less impressive than I had hoped...silky smooth and good red fruit on the palate but lacked the acidity and structure I expect this wine to have. Still didn’t suck with some ribeye and king crab!

Celebrating with a couple of fun wines.

1.5 hour decant(lot's of fine/cloudy sediment). A stunning dark garnet color. On the nose: subtle notes of plum, pencil lead, blueberry, floral, cedar, vanilla. Taste: smooth, silky, creamy full wine with blackberry, crushed gravel, coffee grounds, herbal notes, anise, and a peppery milk chocolate finish. YUM!! No reason not to pop one right now if have em.

Very fragrant - could smell even as it was being poured. Dark, woody and bold. Lots of fruit. Still great potential. Little dryer on the end of the pallet. Tannin and acid are well balanced. Distinctive fruit on the entry transitioning to a earthy dryer finish. 9.3+

My first taste of the 2008 vintage. Excellent but young. This one is going to be incredible in about 7 to 10!
