The Don Rolando bottling was a tough act to follow, but this Cab Franc is equally impressive.
Perfumed nose of black cherry and plum layered with violet, pencil shavings, tobacco leaf, a subtle green herbal note that added freshness without becoming vegetal. The palate, almost Bordeaux like, is concentrated and layered, driven by vibrant acidity and stony minerality, with fine grained yet firm tannins. — a day ago

Gran reserva 2018

Nice rioja. Warmer than I like but it’s hot this summer. Smooth. Floral notes. Easy to drink. Low tannins. Great taste. Highly recommend. Didn’t even loose my taste for drinking after looking at my wife’s cut open finger from the knives i just sharpened. Dry, doesn’t make your mouth pucker. Gets better the more you drink. 9.2. 33$ great value.

This is the best bottle of wine I’ve had from my cellar in years. Nearly perfect. Bought it in 2008 for $30 and one of my great finds. Good lord it was just divine. I’m sure there have been better vintages but I can’t imagine it. — 4 months ago
Had high hopes as this wine/vintage was an absolute stunner 7-8 years ago when I last had a bottle but this one was a bit shagged (as my newly minted MW friend likes to say). Hoping it’s just this bottle, but maybe it’s peak has long past. Slightly maderized and very little fruit left. Thin. — 5 months ago
We had the 2016 Vintage on 8/15-16/26. A real good Chianti with tastes of raspberry, black cherry, plum and herbs. Old World, medium bodied — 20 days ago

This is a beautifully elegant nebbiolo with generous aromatics, a silky smooth mouthfeel, and refined tannins providing just a touch of grip on the finish. Notes of cherry, mint, and white pepper come through on the nose, and on the palate additional flavors of cloves, orange zest, and violet add complexity. Finish Is moderately long, with lingering notes of spice, cherry, and bitter orange. This paired well with pan-seared duck breast and a port wine blueberry reduction sauce. Light/medium bodied with high acidity. — 14 days ago
