2015 vintage. 85% Merlot, 11% Cabernet Franc and 4 % Petit verdot. Only the second vintage with Petit Verdot in the blend from a plot planted in 2011. Classic old school Saint-Emilion, build to age. Don't expect a flashy wine, but an understated balanced gentleman. — 4 years ago

Woo-eeee does this ever smell like California Chardonnay—I was worried my delicate sensibilities might take umbrage, but my senses adjusted (maybe I’ve just been drinking weakling wines) and on the palate this wine is less an overly enthusiastic suitor and much more a gentleman who actually reads—more beneath the surface than I expected based on smell and soon we were holding hands and I was flirtatiously fidgeting with my necklace, and and wondering if we’d kiss at the end of the bottle (probably don’t pick a mate that way though their smell when you meet them is kinda important methinks). Anyway, what did this wine (I’ve decided is Ryan Gosling type) have to say? A lot! But fortunately I don’t mind a wine with more to say than me. Butterscotch and yellow apple, and most intriguingly both up front and on the finish I get that gunflint-y smoky minerality I adore and it finishes with citrus peel, creme, and browned butter. 2018 vintage. There is a lot to be said about this estate, I recommend visiting the website. It has a very ancient history but today it is a big 250 hectares estate, with 108 hectares of vines, 54 hectares classified as Margaux (after a legal battle), 50 hectares as Haut-Médoc and 4 hectares planted with Sauvignon Blanc (only entitled to the humble Bordeaux Blanc appellation over here). It shines rapidly in the nose with cassis, flowers and very subtle oak. In the mouth it is all about elegance. If you are looking for a blockbuster, this is not your kind. But if you can appreciate a classy refined gentleman then buy this by the case. Textbook Margaux finesse, with impeccable balance, nice depth and length make this one of the finest values in the appellation. Highly recommended. Abv. 13,5 %. — 4 years ago

2024/5/1-3. A lovely, country gentleman type of white Burgundy, from a vintage I am particularly fond of (as I was 295¥ 2007 also). Generous yellow color. No apparent oak influence, but lots of lemon fruit and subtle, natural creaminess. The finish is both mineral and also bready - the taste that lingers after eating a good, classical sweet baguette. — 6 months ago
