Wednesday Wine Committee. Great hosting by Gavin. 1 sparkler, 4 whites, 4 reds and 2 dessert wines. All served blind as usual.
A very pretty wine. Fairly integrated, smooth and balanced. Aromatics of blackberries and black cherries, black tea and vanilla pipe tobacco. The entry was a bit light but the mid palate was beautifully textured and sweet. Slight herbal character toward the finish, which had me call this left bank Bordeaux from mid 2000s.

08' Palmaz Cabernet. I'll just jump right into it. I keep taking sips of this wine... thinking I've tasted this before? Two things come to mind. Rubicon & Favia cab combo.🤔Elegant, soft & silky. Chocolate, black fruits, dried red fruits. Not quite as complexed as those wines. That might have something to do with the vintage? Nevertheless, very appealing. Drinking now. What's not to like. If visiting Napa a great tour.

Very surprisingly soft and understated for a wine at this price. Delicious but I'm not sure who would buy this.

This is one of the finest wines I have ever tasted. We purchased this wine at the winery after a top notch tasting experience in 2012. A gentleman named Jordan hosted our private tasting and basically helped us plan the remainder of wine vacation. No disappointments! We have since learned how fortunate we were to have that experience. Apparently it is not easy to get an appointment at Palmaz. Beautiful concentrated fruit and structure followed by a lingering finish. Seamless and elegant start to finish! Nirvana! Cheers!

Fsntastic nose. Dark purple color. Dark fruit flavor in the middle. Can't eait to taste the 07/08/09 veryivsl.
